Walid Zayed holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the American University of Amman, graduating in 2003. He began his career the same year at Ernst & Young, where he worked in auditing and financial consulting.
He was later assigned to the firm’s Syria office, where he gained extensive experience in external and internal audit, financial consultancy, and feasibility studies across a wide range of sectors, including telecommunications, oil and gas, private banking, pharmaceuticals, education, non-profits, and industry.
In 2012, Walid established his own financial consultancy firm in Jordan, providing advisory services to companies in the food and restaurant sectors. He later joined the aviation and navigation group Gitex in 2018, serving as Chief Financial Officer, where he further developed his experience in remote team management.
Walid’s relationship with Hurras began in 2017 when he provided financial and operational consultancy to the organization’s leadership. In 2018, he joined the organization’s head office in Turkey as Operations Manager.
He is committed to applying his extensive private-sector experience to strengthen Hurras’ financial, administrative, procurement, operations, auditing, and governance systems. Walid believes that humanitarian organizations can achieve sustainable growth by investing in staff development and improving management systems, while maintaining their humanitarian values and mission.
He is known for his energetic and positive personality, combined with a structured and consistent management style. Walid is married and the father of two daughters.
