Short Biography

Ruba was born in Daraya, Damascus, in 1983. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Damascus University (2006) and a Diploma in Legal Studies (2009). She is a member of the Damascus Bar Association and serves as an international arbitration advisor.

She practiced law for five years before joining Hurras Network in 2014 as the Manager of the Monitoring and Policy Department. Drawing on her legal background, she contributed to establishing multiple monitoring teams across Syria to document violations and advocate for children’s rights in accordance with international legal standards. She also trained activists and humanitarian workers on child protection and monitoring principles from a legal perspective.

Ruba has participated in drafting several reports on violations against children and civilians resulting from the conflict in Syria. She believes that one of the core missions of Hurras Network is to help build a society that respects children’s rights and is empowered to address violations against them.

She is married and a mother of three children.
