This session focused on the state of children’s rights in Syria, emphasising the duty to protect children and the role of international investigators and judicial authorities in upholding their rights and addressing violations. Maimouna Al Ammar, representing the Child Guardians Network, delivered a presentation on the nature and extent of violations against children in Syria, highlighting critical protection gaps. Al Ammar also contributed to discussions on the international avenues available for seeking justice for affected children in Syria and shared best practices for documenting crimes and violations.
