Campaigns and Donations
Where does my donation go?
100% of your donation — almost always — goes directly to support children and families in need. Our UK operational costs are covered by Gift Aid and other sources, ensuring your generosity reaches the programs on the ground.
Can I choose how my donation is used?
Yes! You can choose to support a specific appeal, such as sponsoring a child, supporting mental health, helping rebuild schools, or funding community initiatives. If you’re unsure, you can make a general donation and we’ll direct it to where it’s most urgently needed.
What impact does my donation have?
Your contribution helps provide essentials like food, clothing, medical care, education, mental health support, and protection services. Whether it’s sponsoring a child, supporting school renovations, or funding youth and community programs — your donation helps restore childhood, dignity, and hope.
How do I know my donation is making a difference?
We are committed to transparency. We provide updates through reports, stories, and testimonials from the communities we serve. Our programs are guided by international standards and best practices, and we continuously measure impact on the ground.
How quickly does my donation start helping children?
Your donation begins working immediately. Within 48 hours of your gift, it starts directly supporting children through our ongoing programs. Whether it’s providing meals, educational support, or emergency protection, your impact is immediate.
Is my donation secure?
Yes, absolutely. Our donation platform uses industry-standard security measures including SSL encryption to protect your personal and financial information. All payment processing is handled through secure, PCI-compliant payment gateways that meet the highest security standards.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept multiple secure payment options through our donation platform:
- Credit/Debit Cards
- PayPal
- Bank transfers (details provided during checkout)
- Monthly giving through automated recurring donations
Note: Available payment methods will be displayed during the donation process.
Can I make a monthly donation instead of a one-time gift?
Yes! You can easily set up recurring monthly donations by selecting the “monthly donation” option during checkout. Monthly giving allows us to plan long-term projects and provide sustained support to children. You can manage your recurring donations through your donor account on our website.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
If you’re donating from the UK, your donation may be eligible for Gift Aid, increasing its value at no extra cost to you. For other countries, please check local tax laws or consult your accountant.
Volunteers Questions
How do I become a volunteer with Child Guardians?
Simply fill out our volunteer application form on this page. Tell us about your background, interests, and availability. Our team will contact you within a week to discuss opportunities that match your skills.
Do I need previous experience to volunteer?
Not necessarily. While some roles benefit from relevant experience, we welcome passionate individuals from all backgrounds. Just let us know your interests and availability.
What do you expect from your volunteers?
We don’t want followers—we need leaders. We expect you to be proactive, bring fresh ideas, ask tough questions, and aren’t afraid to speak up. Your perspective matters here, and we act on what you share. We’re looking for people who see child protection as more than just work—it’s a calling that deserves your full commitment.
What specific qualities are you looking for?
We’re looking for people who are genuinely committed to child protection and bring both professionalism and passion to their work. We expect reliability, willingness to learn, and a collaborative spirit. Most importantly, we need volunteers who understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality and upholding the highest ethical standards when working with children and families.
Will I receive any training or orientation?
Child Guardians strongly believes in nurturing talent. Volunteers may have the opportunity to join ongoing training sessions focused on leadership, management, and essential skills relevant to our work. We also recognize and celebrate those who show a strong commitment to personal and professional growth. If training is relevant to your role, our team will share the necessary resources with you.
Is there a minimum time commitment?
We try to stay flexible. Some volunteer roles require short-term support, while others may involve ongoing engagement. In your application, you can tell us what works best for you.
What if my availability changes?
We understand life happens. Just let us know if your schedule changes, and we’ll work together to find a solution that works for everyone.
Can I volunteer remotely?
Yes, in some cases. We occasionally have needs that can be supported remotely—especially for tasks like translation, content creation, or technical support. Be sure to mention this preference in your application.
Will I be compensated for my volunteer work?
Most of our volunteer roles are unpaid. However, in some cases where volunteers support specific programs over longer periods, modest compensation may be offered based on available resources.
When will I hear back after applying?
After you submit your application, expect to hear from us within a week for an initial conversation. From there, we’ll work together to find the right match based on your interests and our current needs.
